How Waxing Works

Things to Do Before Your Waxing
Appointment

  • Stop shaving for 2 weeks

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Avoid chemical exfoliants/retinols for at least a week prior to your appointment

  • Use a physical exfoliant 2 days before your appointment

  • Thoroughly clean your skin prior to your appointment

  • Avoid caffeine

  • Avoid spray tans

  • Take ibuprofen if desired

Hard Wax Benefits

  • Once it hardens, hard wax is removed by hand , saving waste from not having to use wax strips (like with soft wax)

  • It's thicker than soft wax and works by adhering to the hair only (and not the top layer of skin)

  • Hard-waxing is typically less painful and more comfortable for most people than soft-waxing because it does not adhere to the skin

  • Hard wax is perfect for hair removal on sensitive areas such as the bikini line and underarms, plus large areas like the legs and body

  • Hard wax leaves no sticky residue

  • The heat from hard wax causes pores to open up, making it easier to remove hairs
